farm waste polythene

Storage options for your waste polythene

We are happy to collect your polythene loose or bagged - which can be clean or dirty (but not contaminated with net, string, fenceposts or tyres!)

Loose - in one heap

Loose - in one heap

All wrap and sheet can be stored together in one heap where the lorry can access it easily. There must not be any low cables or branches, due to the height of the lorry and the reach of the self - loading grab.

Bagged waste

Bagged

You can use a bag of your choice. We would recommend you empty your plastic out onto the yard prior to collection so that you are able to reuse your bags, with no additional cost (except for the netting which can only be collected if it’s in a bag that is tied at the top).

Bag Holder

Keeping waste plastic clean during winter time can be a challenge depending where you are feeding the bales. But no mud and contamination means less weight and less cost!

Although we can't expect the polythene to be clean, we cannot accept polythene that has other contaminants mixed in that will affect the recycling process of your waste. So no wood, tyre, straw, soil or plant residue.

Storage of feed and fertilizer bags

Feed bags and any other small sacks should be stacked flat and tied in bundles.

Fertilizer bags need to be either stacked flat and tied in bundles or tied in bundles by the handles - this allows us to achieve maximum weight on the lorry, therefore keeping costs to a minimum.

Silage sheeting, crop film and polytunnel - cut/folded into sections suitable for yourselves to move and us to load.

NB. CONTAMINATION OF THE BALE WRAP STARTS ACCORDING TO WHERE THE BALES ARE STORED AND FED - NOT NECESSARILY WHERE THE WASTE IS STORED!

Waste stored indoors increases the volume and is more bulky. If you feel you have no option but to store it indoors, please ensure it is placed tightly in a bag and placed outside in an accessible area for the lorry to load the day PRIOR to collection.
