Storage of silage sheeting, feed and fertilizer bags
Loose - in one heap
Loose
in one heap in the yard where the lorry can access it OR store in a silage bag
or the white polythene liner of a fertilizer bag.
Bagged
You
can use a bag of your choice or Birch multi-trip bags with skirt tops. Why not
empty your wrap/sheet onto the yard prior to collection and re-use your bags?
Bag Holder
The bag holder allows the waste to be stored in a contained manner. We are able to supply white bags (110 x 110 x 110cm with skirt tops to cover the polythene and protect it against the elements), however you can use any bag of your choice.
Our bags are multi-trip bags- and so we would recommend you empty your plastic out onto the yard prior to collection so that you are able to reuse your bags, with no additional cost.
Waste Storage Pen
The waste storage pen allows for a far greater quantity of waste polythene to be stored, and is totally accessible with a sliding/removable lid.
It can hold in excess of 1000 bale wraps.
- Another option is to make a pen of pallets and place the loose wrap inside the pen. If the pen is made accessible to the lorry, the grab would lift the waste directly out of the pen.
Storage of feed and fertilizer bags
1. Feed bags and any other small sacks should be stacked flat and tied in bundles.
2. Fertilizer bags need to be either stacked flat and tied in bundles or tied in
bundles by the handles - this allows us to achieve maximum weight on the lorry,
therefore keeping costs to a minimum.
3. Silage sheeting, crop film and polytunnel - cut/folded into sections suitable for yourselves to move and us to load.
NB. CONTAMINATION OF THE BALE WRAP STARTS ACCORDING TO WHERE THE BALES ARE STORED AND FED - NOT NECESSARILY WHERE THE WASTE IS STORED!
Waste stored indoors increases the volume and is more bulky. If you feel you have no option but to store it indoors, please ensure it is placed tightly in a bag and placed outside in an accessible area for the lorry to load the day PRIOR to collection.
